The DF-C Series AC power supplies provide single- or three-phase loads with adjustable sinusoidal AC voltage. They support reproducible functional tests, stress tests, and industrial processes in which voltage and frequency must be precisely matched to the load.

From a single test station to a high-performance industrial system, the DF-C Series can be tailored to a variety of tasks. It is designed for continuous 24/7 industrial operation within the rated parameters and under the specified environmental and cooling conditions.

The unit is operated via the front panel or through a remote control interface selected at the time of ordering. The digital control loop continuously monitors the output values and operates in constant-voltage (CV) mode. Depending on the model selected, the LV and FS voltage/current ranges allow for a higher output current at a lower voltage.

Output Ranges and Signal Quality

The output frequency is adjustable from 47 Hz to 63 Hz and can be customized to include fixed frequencies of 100 Hz and 200 Hz upon request. The DF-CM series is available for higher frequencies.

The standard ranges are LV at 0 … 150 Vrms L-N and FS at 0 … 300 Vrms L-N. Voltage, current, and apparent power are limited by the rated values of the selected model. The maximum values for the series also include customer-specific configurations and cannot be achieved simultaneously with every device.

Short response times support dynamic test sequences: The recovery time is ≤15 ms for a load change from 10% to 90%. With digital control, commands are responded to in less than 20 ms.

Additional options

The interfaces and output configuration are specified at the time of ordering. The pin assignment depends on the model ordered and the device-specific documentation.

[U] External analog control U
Optional input for setting the output voltage. Depending on the model, the signal range is 0 … 5 V, 0 … 10 V, or 4 … 20 mA.

[F] External analog feedback U
Optional output for monitoring the actual output voltage value with 0 … 5 V, 0 … 10 V, or 4 … 20 mA, depending on the version ordered.

[G] External analog feedback I
Optional output for monitoring the actual output current value with 0 … 5 V, 0 … 10 V, or 4 … 20 mA, depending on the version ordered.

[A] Interlock loop or external output control
The optional interlock loop blocks the output when the loop is open and enables it when the loop is closed. Alternatively, an external output control configuration can be selected when placing the order. The operating mode is set at the factory and cannot be changed by the user afterward.

[D] Digital Interface
RS232 or RS485 with Modbus RTU configured as standard are available as options. Alternatively, a simplified, documented proprietary protocol is available upon request. The desired protocol must be specified at the time of order, as a later change would require replacement of the control board. RS422 is not offered.

[O] Output Configuration
The AC output is potential-free by default. Available options include a potential-free version without its own residual current circuit breaker (O6), a potential-free version with an integrated residual current circuit breaker (O7), and a grounded version available upon request. The output version must be distinguished from the protective grounding of the housing. Details can be found in the manual and the functional and wiring diagram.
