The DF-CM series offers single- and three-phase AC power supplies for test applications requiring higher output frequencies. The adjustable sinusoidal AC voltage supports development test benches and industrial processes with frequency-dependent loads. The series thus complements the DF-C product line in applications where a power supply within the standard utility frequency range is insufficient.

Even at the highest frequency specified for the ordered model, the units are designed for 24/7 continuous operation. Single- and three-phase models, as well as custom power ranges, make the DF-CM Series a flexible foundation for your test setup. The rated values and environmental conditions of the selected model apply.

As an alternative to the standard frequency range of 350 Hz … 450 Hz, a version for 200 Hz … 2,500 Hz is available upon request. The desired frequency range must be specified when placing the order. The unit is operated via the front panel or an optional remote control interface. The digital control loop operates in constant voltage (CV) mode.

Output Ranges and Signal Quality

The standard ranges are LV (0 … 150 Vrms L-N) and FS (0 … 300 Vrms L-N). Voltage, current, apparent power, and frequency are determined by the specifications of the selected model and the ordered configuration. The higher output current is available in the lower voltage range. The maximum values for the series also account for customer-specific devices and are not achievable simultaneously with every model.

Short response times support dynamic test sequences: The recovery time is ≤15 ms for a load change from 10% to 90%. With digital control, the command response time is less than 20 ms.

Additional options

The interfaces and output configuration are specified at the time of ordering. The pin assignment depends on the model ordered and the device-specific documentation.

[Z1] Connection Cable and Power Connection
The connection cable, plug connection, and required fuse rating depend on the input power, number of phases, and ordered configuration. The specific connection details and scope of delivery are specified for each model.

[U] External analog control U
Optional input for setting the output voltage. Depending on the model, the signal range is 0 … 5 V, 0 … 10 V, or 4 … 20 mA.

[F] External analog feedback U
Optional output for monitoring the actual output voltage value with 0 … 5 V, 0 … 10 V, or 4 … 20 mA, depending on the version ordered.

[G] External analog feedback I
Optional output for monitoring the actual output current value with 0 … 5 V, 0 … 10 V, or 4 … 20 mA, depending on the version ordered.

[A] Interlock loop or external output control
The optional interlock loop blocks the output when the loop is open and enables it when the loop is closed. Alternatively, an external output control configuration can be selected when placing the order. The operating mode is set at the factory and cannot be changed by the user afterward.

[D] Digital Interface
RS232 or RS485 with Modbus RTU configured as standard are available as options. Alternatively, a simplified, documented proprietary protocol is available upon request. The desired protocol must be specified at the time of order, as a later change would require replacement of the control board. RS422 is not offered.

[O] Output Configuration
The AC output is potential-free by default. Available options include a potential-free version without its own residual current circuit breaker (O6), a potential-free version with an integrated residual current circuit breaker (O7), and a grounded version available upon request. The output version must be distinguished from the protective grounding of the housing. Details can be found in the manual and the functional and wiring diagram.
